Good news! Starting November, 1st 2007, Dreamstime will update royalties. The changes are:
Image Levels
- Level 1 - 0-9 downloads (was 0-24)
- Level 2 - 10-24 downloads (was 25-49)
- Level 3 - 25-49 downloads (was 50-99)
- Level 4 - 50-99 downloads (was 100-199)
- Level 5 - More than 100 downloads (was More than 200 downloads)
For better understanding what the image levels are, here's a brief explanation:
When you upload a new image to Dreamstime it has 0 (zero) downloads and it's level 1. Whenever somebody buys that image, the number of downloads increases and the price level changes according to it. Higher the level, higher the number of credits you get for a sale.
A complete table of royalties by image level:

Subscription royalties will also be updated to US$0.30 per download (a 20% increase). This seems to be the industry standard, as it's the value praticed by SS, SXP and DT. 123RF pays US$0.36 per subscription download.
